POSITION DUTIES
Reporting to the Supervisor, Production & Digital Media, this position will be responsible for providing production support to the Corporate Communications team as it relates to creation, upload and maintenance of digital media, Content creation, print production, web asset management and brand management. Maintains archive documentation of video assets and events for ease of retrieval. Performs video assignments; creating high quality, original material to be used by the Corporation for City publications and websites.
- Manage digital and offset projects for all departments in the City of Brampton. Manage deadlines, pre-flight files for print (includes colour management, Image correction, page layout, prepping file for bindery, etc) drafting and submitting RFQ for all projects that require external vendors.
- Responsible for managing all video assets for the City of Brampton, including shooting all content and archiving as required.
- Responsible for providing the City of Brampton with high resolution digital assets, including: event footage and recap videos of the City’s large and small scale productions, studio videos of staff members and management, landscape videos that show the different marks of land and life in Brampton, Council videos and staged commercial shoots.
- Capture HD video for the use of PSA videos, commercials, interviews, etc. All pre-production, storyboarding, location scouting, etc, Post-production work includes video editing, VFX, motion graphics, color grading, sound editing and preparation for social sharing. Able to work with software such as but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud video editing software (i.e. Premiere, After Effects).
- Responsible for managing all business cards for staff working for the City of Brampton.
- Supports the Creative Design Team with handling overflow projects that have tight deadlines. Able to work with software such as but not limited to Adobe creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, lightroom) to layout and design digital and print projects for different City departments.
- Perform colour correction, compositing, visual effects, retouching, meta tagging and image prep of all digital assets.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
EDUCATION:
- High School (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional program over one (1) year and up to two (2) years or equivalent in Graphic Design, Advertising, Visual Communications or related program.
EXPERIENCE:
- Over one (1) year, up to and including two (2) years of related experience in a studio broadcast environment
REQUIRED LICENCE CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid, non-probationary Ontario Class G Drivers Licence.
OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced knowledge of industry techniques (photo manipulation, trapping, preflight, colour management, file preparation and repair and font usage) as well as Digital, Offset and Web printing processes.
- Previous film experience with DSLR cameras and cinema cameras.
- Knowledge of all grip, lighting, sound and safety components of a film setting.
- Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
